DO SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY
We do new things all the time, but do we do them with intention?
After my Son’s stillbirth, I felt so lost. I wasn’t the same person as I was pre-pregnancy, or even during pregnancy. I realized that a part of me also died with my Son. My mom had told me one time - “a mother gets a new life after she carries and delivers a baby, she is re-born”. I laughed and had no idea what she meant. But yet again, she was right.
Trying to navigate this new post-pregnancy world, a world without my Son physically with me, is tough. I’m constantly asking myself what this new normal should look like, and the truth is I still have no idea. But what I do know is that I’m not the same person.
Zade really inspired me to be more authentically me. To do things that I want to do, and not because ‘it’s the right thing to do’. He showed me how unpredictable life can be. He showed me that living out of my comfort zone is possible. So now when I do something, I do it with intention. I do it with love. I do it because I want to do it. I do something new every single day. It doesn’t matter if it’s something big or small. Like starting this blog, or trying out a new recipe. It’s just something new. It’s exciting. It’s motivating. It’s different. It’s a beautiful way of connecting with my Son.
At the end of the day my husband and I always ask each other “So what did you do new today?” and as we tell each other what we did. It always feels like a family conversation, one that includes our Son.
I hope that Zade can inspire you too, to do something new, to do it with intention, and to do it with love.
So tell me, what did you do that was new today?
